THE MINDFUL GARDENER (TMG)

WHY I STARTED THE MINDFUL GARDENER

I started TMG because so many people today are stressed and suffering anxiety on a daily basis. Even though we work hard in the concrete jungles we call our cities, we often feel alone and isolated. I have felt these varying depths of despair, from sexual abuse when I was a child to suicidal thoughts and post natal depression, but plants and gardens have always brought me to life again and given me hope. I wanted to give others hope too, so I decided I would use my knowledge and experience to help them achieve the same peace of mind I found using plants to nurture my soul. The feedback I received has been overwhelming and people were amazed that they too could find peace and calm from simply taking care of plants. They spoke of feeling an emotional connection within themselves, their mental health improved and so did their relationships.  More and more of us are harnessing the power of nature by taking care of plants to take care of our own being. Won't you join us?

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Mindful Gardening is about taking time to slow down and connect with nature. Growing plants indoors or out has incredible mental health benefits. As well as the physical and emotional benefits, spending time nurturing our houseplant 'babies' improves concentration, productivity and memory retention by up to 20% according to a study by Michigan University. Houseplants also reduce stress and anxiety and they are way cheaper than a therapist - although that is debatable of course! Mindful Gardening is a simple process that can be done in as little as fifteen minutes a day. My 5 step system is easy to learn and you will see benefits from day one.

WHO SHOULD DO IT?

Everyone! Seriously though, even if you don't have a garden you can be a Mindful Gardener with your houseplants. Creating a green space with as little a three plants will give you all the tools you need to get started. If you feel overwhelmed, anxious or stressed then taking a few minutes every day to follow my easy and effortless guide will help you live a calmer, more connected life filled with joy and fulfilment. What are you waiting for? It's a FREE guide and workbook I wrote about what I have naturally done over the years and honestly, at certain times in my life it has saved me, literally. So, what have you got to lose?

WHAT'S THE TIME COMMITMENT?

Fifteen minutes a day. That's it! Of course you can do more on the days when you have more time, but this is a simple mindfulness practice that incorporates nature and houseplants. Studies have shown houseplants boost mood, productivity, concentration and creativity. They clean indoor air by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity and producing oxygen. And there are many, many more benefits so download my guide to get started.
